Mary Ruggieri, DPT
Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist
Originally from Northeast Ohio, my journey led me to Columbus, where I earned my bachelor's degree in Health Sciences at Ohio State University. Fueling my passion for healthcare, I then ventured to the vibrant city of Miami, Florida, pursuing a doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of Miami, where I graduated with honors. The allure of the southwest coast of Florida, nurtured through family vacations, drew me to Naples after completing my studies.
In the course of my professional development, a fascination with the transformative power of physical therapy on the pelvic floor emerged. Beyond the curriculum of my doctoral program, I sought additional expertise through continuing education courses and hands-on experience in Nevada, delving into the nuanced realm of pelvic floor dysfunction. My practice extends beyond pelvic health to encompass a spectrum of conditions, including orthopedic, gastrointestinal, and neurological disorders. Recognizing the interconnectedness of these issues with pelvic floor dysfunction, I tailor treatments to address the unique needs of each patient.
My overarching mission is to empower individuals of diverse backgrounds—regardless of gender, race, or age—to thrive in their homes, communities, and social spheres. I am committed to collaborative care, partnering with my patients to foster active participation and control in their healing journey. Beyond immediate interventions, my focus is on long-term success, building confidence, and enabling patients to independently apply the skills acquired in physical therapy beyond the formal intervention.
